On February 6, 2010, CU4ML held a general membership meeting for all of its members. This report from our president, Jeanne Poindester describes the progress our organization has made to prevent more by-outs and educate Mitchell-Lama cooperators on its risks.
Representatives from HPD and DHCR were also there to speak and took questions from the audience.
In June 2009, CU4ML held a general membership meeting for all of its members. These are the remarks of Jeanne Poindexter, a Mitchell-Lama cooperator from East Midtown Plaza, discussing the steps towards privatization and how shareholders can fight to remain a Mitchell-Lama co-op.

To see you building’s deeds, mortgages, etc., you can use ACRIS on the New York City website as follows:
- Go to the ACRIS web page at: http://a836-acris.nyc.gov/CP/
- Click on “Begin using ACRIS”
- Click on “Find Addresses and Parcels”
- Use the pull-down menu to enter the borough and then fill in the address.
- Then click on BBL to find the Borough/Block/Lot of the property. Now click on “document search by BBL”
- Then click on “Search” and you will see all the recorded documents relating to your building.

The Mitchell-Lama Residents Coalition is a group of tenants and cooperators who live in Mitchell-Lama housing who are dedicated to preserving affordable housing.
New York Lawyers for the Public Interest may be able to help groups of cooperators to find pro-bono legal assistance in order to fight against privatization.
The Urban Homesteading Assistance Board and New York State Tenants and Neighbors are non-profits that are dedicated to creating and preserving affordable housing in New York City.
